Empowering First-Time and Mid-Level Managers to Lead with Influence

Background: A Global Leader in Automotive Innovation

The client is a global technology company operating in the automotive sector, with a strong footprint in India and Malaysia. As a key supplier to top automotive OEMs, this organization is committed to innovation, sustainability, and performance. With an emphasis on operational excellence and people development, the company sought to create a unified leadership culture across its fast-expanding management cadre.

Faced with growing complexity in project execution, cross-functional collaboration, and team management, the client identified a pressing need to empower first-time and mid-level managers to lead effectively—especially under demanding, high-pressure situations.

Challenge:
Building Leadership Readiness Across Regions

As the organization expanded across geographies, it became evident that many frontline and mid-tier managers had strong technical capabilities but lacked leadership confidence and the skills required to influence, develop, and retain their teams. Additionally, cultural and communication gaps emerged due to the diversity in workforce demographics between India and Malaysia.

The client needed a leadership development solution that would:

  • Equip managers to take ownership of their role as team leaders
  • Build the capacity to influence without authority
  • Instil emotional maturity and resilience
  • Foster better team communication, collaboration, and coaching behaviours

Solution:
"Leading Others" – A Comprehensive Managerial Development Program

WINTEG Consultancy Services designed a dynamic leadership development journey titled "Leading Others" to address the specific challenges of emerging and mid-level leaders across both India and Malaysia.

Program Rollout

The program was rolled out to over 600 managers across India and Malaysia, delivered through face-to-face classroom sessions in cohorts of 20 participants per batch.

  • Role plays, self-assessments, structured activities, and case studies
  • Real-time simulations of challenging workplace situations
